What we can do, now, to help those seeking abortion care
--
It has been brought to my attention that my recent posts concerning the utterly destructive SCOTUS anti-women decision hasn’t offered any real world solutions about what can be done now to help the millions of women in the Forced Birthing States. Criticism received, acknowledged and heeded.
There are two things we can do right now. First, the one that will have an immediate impact is to give money to the organizations that are setup to help through organizing and paying for travel as well as childcare. Below are some links to various organizations that are helping people receive abortion care.

Second, a pressure campaign on our elected officials (I also recommend calling the White House to pressure Biden to consider some rather radical changes to SCOTUS). Call their offices, day and night. Let them know that this is unacceptable and is a national health crisis on the scale of COVID. It’s a crisis of Democracy. It’s a crisis of national cohesion.
One last note, John Gruber over at Daring Fireball has a post on how to lock your iPhone so that you can only get in with a passcode. He also has another post on period tracking apps and how to make sure your health data remains private and inaccessible to law enforcement. Links to both below:

UPDATE 1: A little clarification. The criticism I received came directly from my wife. Her arguments have been very persuasive. ;)
UPDATE 2: Please be careful when coming across any info online regarding abortion pills, medicine, health and who best to reach out to for help. For example, Plan B or The Morning After Pill is not an abortion pill. It must be taken within 72 hours of having sex (please see the website https://www.planbonestep.com). As the site points out, the sooner you take it the better it works. Also, while you can get the abortion pill via mail it comes from overseas. See this Atlantic article for more info: https://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2018/10/women-on-web-safe-abortion-mail/573322/
This is a shit sandwich we’ve been served, but we can do something about it, including refusing to eat it.
